Susie Moore Photography|Senior Inspiration

The Shoot:

This session was shot down in Huntsville, Texas with my friend, Amanda Holloway, after I flew in from Chicago.  Jenna’s makeup and hair was done by a professional MUA.  I always try to encourage each senior to have her makeup professionally done.  It makes such a difference in her confidence level during the shoot!  And as you can tell from the pictures, Jenna had no problem with confidence!  She was a natural when it came to posing, and made the day easy and fun!

We did a “mini” conceptual shoot when Amanda pulled together some beautiful props for our “Indian princess” look.  Jenna pulled it off beautifully, and the time of day was just right to get lovely, creamy skin tones.

Gear:

This shoot was done with a Canon 5D Mark II and my absolute favorite lens, a 50mm 1.2.  I always use natural light—no reflector this time.

My Mission:

I love shooting seniors!  They have become my favorites because they are usually up for just about any location, pose or adventure!  A great sense of satisfaction comes for me when I see their reaction to their senior photos and they say, “I never knew I could look that good,” or “Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever looked that pretty.”  I just think that it’s so important at their age that they see themselves as worthy and created in God’s image.  So many teenagers have issues with body image and self-esteem, and if I can help them realize that they are beautiful just as they are, it really gives me a lot of joy.  My hope is that when they view their senior pictures, they will see that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made”.
