The theme of this session was “I ran away with the music man”. I shot this on a beautiful fall day at a historic home here in Louisville, Kentucky. I always pick a theme that really incorporates the couples style and personality. This couple both love and study music so it was a perfect choice. Once I have chosen a theme, I then build an inspiration board. The inspiration board includes photos of clothing, the color palette, and any other items I want to use in the shoot. I knew I wanted to shoot them from above laying in the sheet music before the shoot took place. I also love to include little touches that make the photos special for them. For example, the piece of music they are holding is their wedding song. Other special items, like his grandfathers pocket watch are included in the vintage suitcase. I also work with a hair and makeup artist to make sure the bride feels and looks amazing. I shoot with a Canon 5d Mark II, and my favorite “go to” lens is my 50mm.

Audrey! Your personal touch and story telling abilities with the lens are by far the best! It’s been an inspiring journey watching you develop into the artist you are today. I can hardly wait to see what’s next.
