Jackie came to me for a lifestyle/headshot session for her ‘about me’ page on her web site. We both felt that we needed to capture something different to really feel her essence. Her free-spirited and sweet personality needed to blend with a professional profile. We both feel we succeeded! Jackie is a professional hair and make-up designer in Southern California ~ she specializes in Weddings… Here is a note from Jackie: “I did this photo shoot with the intention of providing a window into my personality for my prospective clients which are mostly brides. I needed some new photos of myself for my website, which is the first impression for a lot of my clients, but I did’t want the photos to be “traditional” head shots like I had done in the past. I am a business woman first, but I didn’t want the photos to come off as stiff and boring. So I guess you could say I wanted to mix business with pleasure! That’s why the location we picked was perfect at the La Costa Resort & Spa (http://www.lacosta.com/). It’s clean, fresh white architecture with pops of color from fountains and flowers were the inspiration for my wardrobe in the first set. It is totally who I am, professional, but fun! In the second set we headed off to one of my favorite beaches in Carlsbad, Ponto Beach. I changed into this amazing silk, pleated, ombre, maxi dress. The grey-blue colors and the way the light reflected off the silk reminded me of the ocean at night as the moon danced on it, and it gave the photos a more ethereal, romantic touch. I wanted to display my more carefree, relaxed side by being barefoot and frolicking on the beach. Patty Williams-Brutlag captured this better than I could ever imagined! The lighting is gorgeous and I absolutely LOVE how they turned out!”
