‘I have always loved being involved in cosplay/themed shoots – and have really wanted to do a fallen angel themed shoot for quite a while. This year I decided to it was time to make it happen. The shoot’s styling was really a collaborative effort between all three of my models and my hair and makeup artist, Jordan Hudson. The location couldn’t have been better. We shot at Remley Point Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The cemetery pre-dates the 1870 establishment of Scanlonville, a community created for freed slaves after the Civil War. There are some marked graves, but it is estimated that there are between 600 – 2000 unmarked slave graves on the property.  After a very public lawsuit in 2001, when a couple tried to have the graves moved to build a home on it, the land was deemed community property and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With the cemetery’s dark history, and gorgeous surroundings – it really completed the shoot’- Necessary Photography

Styled Bridal Shoot Hotel Shattuck Plaza, Berkeley, California February 5, 2012 Inspiration & Vision: I love Amy-Jo Tatum’s classic designs which harken back to Audrey Hepburn days. These styles just seems so well suited to the deco feel of the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley, California and it really turned out well with this great team of contributing vendors. The ballroom set features the designs of Tamiko Garner of All Thing Simple and the lighting designs of DJ Jason Mitchell. They layered a contemporary finish onto the classic lines of the gorgeous Shattuck Ballroom. The arched mirrored walls gave us a wonderful depth to work within for these shots. Laura Urbina and the rest of the Shattuck staff were a great pleasure to work with. The Bridal Suite settings were really driven by the beautiful interior designs of the suite provided by the Shattuck. If only every wedding day began in such a suite! The huge, bright bathroom was fantastic for the getting ready shots with its large windows and mirrors. The bedroom provided large windows and French doors by which to light our stunning bride. And of course the lavish king bed gave us the perfect way to complete the shoot as you’ll see in the images.
