Wish Photography|Senior Inspiration

These three stunning girls are what I like to call Wish Reps.  A Wish Rep is a high school senior who represents Wish Photography at their high school.
When it was time to schedule these three Reps I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I told them “I want to create something whimsy and soft.  Think perfume ads.” I knew I wanted to use as much light as I could in camera and during the post processing.
When it comes to styling the shoot I first tell the clients what I am envisioning.  I encourage them to bring a variety of clothing including pieces that can be layered as well as accessories.  Mixing and matching textures makes me happy.  It keeps the photograph interesting and inspires the viewer.  I am not afraid to mix textures, patterns and to layer necklaces, bracelets and rings.
With every shoot I go into I have a plan on how I want the finished product to be.  I gathered my inspiration from pretty perfume ads then made it my own without making it literal. Don’t be afraid when your inspiration takes a different turn just like this shoot did not end up being what a fragrance campaign might look like, the concept gave me the drive to create something beautiful.
During the post process I really try to make the colors a little richer, the light brighter and the overall feel a little whimsy.
I used my Canon 5D Mark II and my 85mm 1.8 lens.
After this shoot I made sure to include bug spray in my camera bag.

I had driven by this location numerous times, hoping to plan a session there. While I love urban backdrops, I often find myself in fields and gardens for my client sessions. I was very excited when I finally had the opportunity to get together with some good photographer friends and a couple senior girls for a session at this cool downtown spot. Our model, Pari, was a photographer’s dream. She is the sweetest, most easy-going girl and she is a natural in front of the camera. Every pose with her looked great and hence I had so many images that it has been hard to narrow down what to edit!
I’m not sure how to describe my style… I love color and warmth. I love to be silly with my clients, connect with them, learn about them and build relationships. Most of all, I love happiness. I like to see emotion in my subject’s eyes and I LOVE laughing pictures. I love to make my clients laugh and I love looking at pictures of people laughing. They are always my personal favorites from my sessions!
Gear:
All images were taken with my Canon 5D Mark II, 85 mm f 1.2 and 24-70 mm f 2.8

You are immediately drawn right to her face because of the perfect framing! Fantastic!
